One of the things that truly makes sports the number one passion of mine is the underdog story. An athlete or a team that nobody expects to have success, defies all odds and does something that seemed impossible.

That’s why this college football season the number one team I’m cheering for is the Cincinnati Bearcats. If there is ever going to be a non Power-5 team that will make the College Football Playoff before it expands in the near future, this year’s Cincinnati team is the one that can do it.

Ohio State and Clemson already suffering a loss this season helps Cincinnati’s chances, but if the Bearcats want to see their dream come true, a win at Indiana this weekend is an absolute must.

Cincinnati enters the game ranked No. 8 on the latest AP Poll.

Here are the odds for this weekend’s big game courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

Cincinnati vs. Indiana Prediction and Pick

I might be betting with my heart here, but I think Cincinnati -3 is the bet to make. Cincinnati averaged an astounding eight yards per carry against Miami-Ohio in Week 1, while Indiana gave up 4.4 yards per carry against Iowa in Week 1. The Bearcats should be able to find success on the ground against the Hoosiers, and Heisman candidate Desmond Ridder will be able to make plays with his arm and his legs.

Indiana quarterback Michael Penix Jr. struggled mightily against Iowa in Week 1, completing only 14-of-31 passes for zero touchdowns and three interceptions. Cincinnati’s defense is good enough to cause him issues again this week.

It’s time to finally find out if Cincinnati can be this year’s Cinderella story. Give me the Bearcats -3.
