The Washington Wizards eight-game homestand concludes tonight when they host the Los Angeles Clippers in Game 4 of their eight-game road trip.

Neither team has found much consistency of late, with the Wizards losing three of their last five games following a three-game win streak. Meanwhile, the Clippers have lost four of six and are in the midst of some of their worst defensive play of the season, giving up 118.5 points per game over their last four outings.

Here's how the oddsmakers expect this matchup to go down tonight over at WynnBET Sportsbook:

Clippers vs. Wizards Odds, Spread and Total

Spread:

  • Clippers +4.5
  • Wizards -4.5

Moneyline:

  • Clippers +155
  • Wizards -190

Total:

  • 219 (OVER -110 | UNDER -110)

Clippers vs. Wizards Prediction and Pick

While I'm leaning Wizards to cover the 4.5 points tonight (opened at -4), I believe the safer route is to take the over instead.

Neither team has made much of an effort defensively. The 118.5 points per game allowed by Los Angeles over their last four games. For reference, the Houston Rockets are the league's worst team in points allowed with 116.3 overall.

The same goes for Washington, who despite starting the season with their highest defensive rating in years, has fallen down to 20th in points allowed and 22nd in defensive rating. They're also allowing just under 115 points per game over their last three games at home.

So we know the defense will be bad, but can both offenses keep up? At least on Washington's side, Bradley Beal should be more involved in the offense than he's been the last four games. As for the Clippers, they were fine offensively in their first two quarters in their last game against the New York Knicks, but struggled mightily in the second half to score a combined 41 points; far below their season average.

The Wizards were also blown out 116-87 in their last home game against the Celtics and should be in a far better position to bounce back this evening. I think we'll get a better paced game than most expect, and the sharps agree; moving the line a full 2.5 points from where it opened at 216.5

LEAN: OVER 219
