The College Football Playoff contenders are starting to take shape behind Alabama and Georgia ahead of Week 6, and No. 3 Iowa and No. 4 Penn State will play to decide who has the upper hand in the Big 10.

Not only is this an exciting slate, but there are plenty of upset picks to make this week, and our BetSided team has been pretty solid this season, going 4-1 last week to push our record to 14-7 on the season.

The FanSided College Football team has also made their upset picks this week. You can find them all here.

So who are we taking this week? Here are this week’s best upset picks in college football with all odds via WynnBET Sportsbook:

College Football Upset Pick: Texas Tech (+100) Upsets TCU

The 4-1 Texas Tech Red Raiders are home dogs against the TCU Horned Frogs (2-2) in Week 6 and I’m hopping on the Red Raiders bandwagon in this one.

Texas Tech is coming off an impressive win over West Virginia, who nearly knocked off Oklahoma the week before, in Week 5 and they get to head back home where they are 3-0 this season.

The Red Raiders don’t play much defense, although they held West Virginia scoreless in the first half in Week 5, but they are facing a TCU team that is No. 117 in the country in yards allowed this season. Texas Tech is 69th.

The Horned Frogs have been torched on the ground this season (allowing 204.3 yards per game) but they do have an offense, led by Max Duggan, to compete. Texas Tech is more vulnerable through the air this season, but I think the Red Raiders have played well against quality opponents like Houston and West Virginia this season.

Quarterback Henry Colombi followed head coach Matt Wells to Texas Tech, and he’s come through in a big way since Tyler Shough went down, throwing for 598 yards, three scores and just one pick in three games.

TCU played Texas a lot tougher than the Red Raiders did, but it also nearly lost to a California team that’s lone win this season is against Sacramento State. I think the Red Raiders are being a little disrespected as home dogs after last week’s win and I think they take this outright. -- Peter Dewey

College Football Upset Pick: Texas (+145) Upsets Oklahoma

I went to the University of Texas for college and there is no way I’m picking Oklahoma this week. The Sooners are 1-4 against the spread and haven’t looked impressive all season long. The Red River Showdown is always a close game and Oklahoma has been spared one too many times this year.

Also, Bijan Robinson is a legit Heisman candidate. Robinson ran for over 200 yards last week and is averaging over 6.0 yards per carry this season. Texas is going to hop on his back and hope he takes them to a victory, and I believe he will. The Longhorns haven’t won this matchup since 2018, but they also haven’t had the best player on the field in a while.

College Football Upset Pick: Utah (+155) Upsets USC

The Utah defense has been amongst the best in the country and it's going to stifle the Trojans offense in Week 6. It ranks eighth in opponent yards per play at 4.2, and fourth in the country in opponent yards per pass attempt at 5.1.

The Utes strong secondary will be the deciding factor in this Pac-12 matchup as USC ranks 15th in passing play percentage, throwing the ball on 58.38% of its offensive plays.

Meanwhile, the Trojans offense is more than vulnerable as they rank 85th in opponent yards per play at 5.7. Give me Utah to pull off the upset at +155. -- Iain MacMillan

Utah is coming off of a bye and can take advantage of the extra week to prepare for USC's “air raid” offense. Utes head coach Kyle Whittingham also gets more time to get his new starting quarterback, Cameron Rising, more acclimated in the offense after his first start, a win against Washington State. Off of a bye, Whittingham is as good as anyone in the country, covering by an average of more than seven points in this situation.

USC is still going through the motions with interim head coach Donte Williams and are incredibly volatile and I'll fade them off of a win at Colorado. Don't forget the Trojans got blown out at home by Oregon State two weeks ago, allowing more than six yards per carry on 51 rushes. The Utes average one of the nations highest YPC, 5.58.

I make Utah a small favorite and see an outright upset. -- Reed Wallach

College Football Upset Pick Rutgers (+180) vs. Michigan State

Rutgers is not as bad as they looked last week against Ohio State. Heading into last week, they were 4-1 ATS this season, lost by just a touchdown to Michigan on the road, and then the wheels came off at home to a Buckeyes' squad that has rebounded from their home loss to Oregon.

Michigan State plays a very similar style as Michigan, where they're run-heavy and are more methodical on offense. Rutgers is a defensive-minded team with Greg Schiano, and was allowing just 12.75 points per game until giving up a 50-burger to Ohio State.

If the Scarlet Knights can move the ball through the air against the Spartans, they'll upset Michigan State at home. Four different Scarlet Knights have over 10 receptions so far this year, including Bo Melton who leads them in receptions, yards and touchdowns.

Everyone is off Rutgers due to last week, so I'll fade the public play on the Spartans and jump back on ship. -- Ben Heisler
