The Colts continue to trend upward and are running wild over their competition both literally and figuratively. Running back Jonathan Taylor is leading the NFL in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns and will present a difficult matchup in Week 16 for the Arizona Cardinals.

This is the second Christmas Day going down on Saturday and could prove to be one of the entertaining games of Week 16.

The Cardinals were one of the top favorites to win the Super Bowl a few weeks back but have since lost back-to-back games and are now tied with the Rams for the top spot in the division. The fact that they got blown up by the Detroit Lions last week is almost all you need to know to understand how bad of a state this team is in right now.

The Colts, on the other hand, have turned on the afterburners over the last few weeks and are making a run at the division with 3 weeks to play. After starting the season 1-4, the Indianapolis has done a total 180 and are now 8-6 and riding a two-game winning streak. Taylor is at the center of their run but the team overall has been playing much better than in the early going.

Colts vs. Cardinals Prediction and Pick

It is very hard to bet against the Colts here following the impressive string of games they have sewn together over the last two months. They saved the biggest for last week and beat the AFC East-leading Patriots 27-17. The Colts are not just winning but also covering spreads in this span and are now 6-3 ATS in their last nine games overall.

FYI, their only two SU losses during that stretch were to the defending champion Buccaneers and the Titans with Derrick Henry.

In what can be described as a Bizzaro version of the Colts season, the Cardinals started out as one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl and went on to a 7-0 SU and 6-1 ATS start. But, they have since lost four of seven. I can forgive a loss here and there, even an ugly one, but not getting smoked by the Lions and losing 30-12. It was a humiliating loss that will have a lasting effect on this team.

The Colts are in a bit of a letdown spot here but the Cardinals just can't be trusted right now. Who knows which team will show up or if they will ever recover from Hopkins’ absence. Give me the Colts as short underdogs on the road.

Pick: Indianapolis Colts +100 to win
