Continue to Fade LIV Golfers at Major Championships (Don't Trust Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka at British Open)

The soulless money grab we call the LIV Tour is making headlines for its absurd prize purses and desperate ploys for attention. However, it's clear that money can't buy something rather important for a golf league: actual good golf performance.

While trading their morals for cash, it seems big names like Dustin Johnson, Bryson Dechambeau, Phil Mickelson and others have also traded in their ability to perform well at golf tournaments.

14 LIV Tour golfers competed at the U.S. Open. 10 of them missed the cut altogether, with the only top-40 finish belonging to Dustin Johnson (T24). In the several PGA Tour tournaments since the foundation of the LIV Tour, no LIV player has come close to winning or even competing.

I expect that trend to continue at the British Open Championship at St. Andrews this week. You can check out my preview of the event here or my power rankings, but one thing is notably absent: any mention of LIV golfers.

That's because, well, they've all been horrible lately. As bettors, we can continue to fade LIV Tour players, especially at a major championship like The Open.

LIV Tour Golfers at British Open Championship

The British Open Championship field includes many LIV Tour golfers like Johnson, DeChambeau, Mickelson, Brooks Koepka, and others, but oddsmakers don't expect serious contention from the defactors.

WynnBET Sportsbook has Johnson (+2500) and Koepka (+3000) with the best odds to win the 150th Open Championship of any LIV Tour players, but their poor form of late will likely prevent any chance at victory.

There's something to the awkwardness of ditching the PGA Tour then going back to play around a bunch of people that don't like you. The tension is real, and it's shown in the LIV golfers' performances in recent weeks.

I'll continue to fade LIV players at WynnBET and encourage you to do the same. There are dollars to be made this week. Luckily, we don't have to sell our souls to make them.
