The Dallas Cowboys hope to stop the bleeding for their second straight Thursday night game as they face the New Orleans Saints on Thursday Night Football tonight.

Dallas has lost three of its last four games, and has gone 1-3 against the spread over its last four games after starting off 7-0 ATS. The Cowboys also won't have head coach Mike McCarthy on the sidelines following a positive test earlier in the week for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the Saints are starting Taysom Hill for the first time all season at quarterback, taking over for the ineffective Trevor Siemian. New Orleans has lost four straight after starting the year 5-2, and has not won a game since starting quarterback Jameis Winston went down for the season.

Let's take a look at the updated odds courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook:

Cowboys vs. Saints Prediction and Pick

I asked the oddsmakers at WynnBET why there's been so much line movement in this matchup. After the game opened at Cowboys -5.5, it slipped down most of the week to -4.5, before taking a huge jump back to -6.

WynnBET Senior Trader Motoi Pearson said they got loaded with Cowboys money late, but all their bets have come in on the over.

“We’ve actually taken some action toward the Cowboys on the way up. It has been all bets on the over.”

Our Matt De Saro pointed out earlier in the week that the public may be forgetting about one key play that cost Dallas a win last week, and is backing Dallas to cover on the road.

So how does a team with such a potent offense lose three of four games against average opponents? Predictably, it’s because their defense has let them down. Last week, the Cowboys ultimately lost due to an ill-timed defensive pass interference call on Anthony Brown that set up the game-winning field goal for Las Vegas. It was the fourth PI on Brown, all of which converted a third down for the Raiders. The Cowboys now lead the league in penalty yards after breaking the team record with 166 penalty yards last week.

Despite all the money coming in on the over, the line has stayed consistent at 47, that leads me to believe that the books expect a low scoring game in New Orleans. I'll back the Saints and tail that play.

PICK: UNDER 47 (-110)
