Best Home Run Prop Bet Picks for Wednesday, May 18
- Darin Ruf (+340) - available at WynnBET Sportsbook
- Franmil Reyes (+380)
- Anthony Rizzo (+485) - available at WynnBET Sportsbook
- Bo Bichette (+510) - available at WynnBET Sportsbook
Darin Ruf (+340) - San Francisco Giants at Colorado Rockies
The Giants' clean-up hitter gets a date with destiny as he faces left-hander Kyle Freeland at homer-happy Coors Field.
Over Ruf's career, he's fared far better vs. left-handers, with a career isolated power (ISO) of .258 and a weighted on-base average (wOBA) of .392.
Of his 57 career dingers, 31 have come against lefties in 250 less at-bats.
To Freeland's credit, his HR/9 is down this year at Coors Field, but he's still not missing many bats, and Ruf ranks in the 87th percentile of max exit velocity and hard hit percentage, via MLB Statcast.
He may have just one home run this season, but I'll back him to get his second this afternoon in Denver. -- Ben Heisler
Franmil Reyes (+380) - Cleveland Guardians vs. Cincinnati Reds
Reyes has only hit three home runs this season, but I like the matchup tonight.
He faces Tyler Mahle, who has given up a home run in each of his last three starts. Reyes has also hit all three of his homers against right-handed pitchers, another advantage for today.
The Guardians hit nearly one homer per game, but the Reds allow the most homers per contest. If Reyes can find his swing today, the stars are aligning just right for him. -- Donnavan Smoot
Anthony Rizzo (+485) - New York Yankees at Baltimore Orioles
I know, I know, I keep picking New York Yankees in Daily Dinger, but if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!
Yesterday, I took Aaron Judge and he hit not one, but two homers against the Baltimore Orioles.
Tonight it is Anthony Rizzo’s turn to leave the yard. The Yankees face starter Jordan Lyles, who they tagged for three homers the last time they faced off this season. Rizzo is pretty solid against Lyles in 22 career at bats, hitting .273 with two homers and 11 runs batted in, so don’t be shocked if he leaves the yard tonight.
With Camden Yards now sporting a much deeper left field, I like taking the lefty in Rizzo to pull the ball to right and homer. -- Peter Dewey
Bo Bichette (+510) - Toronto Blue Jays vs. Seattle Mariners
Bichette has crushed lefties in his short career, hitting .341 against southpaws in 258 at bats to the tune of a .570 slugging percentage.
He now draws Marco Gonzales on Wednesday at home and I like the prospects of him going deep. Gonzales' FIP is nearly double his ERA, meaning that he is hurting for regression.
I'll take the most capable hitter against lefties to go yard. -- Reed Wallach
