Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys were upset in the wild card round of the NFL playoffs by the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.

It was Prescott’s third loss in four postseason appearances, and he’s now thrown for just one score in each of his last three playoff games.

Should Cowboys fans be concerned long term?

There certainly is a reason to be a little worried about Dak going forward. Dallas has been upset at home twice in Prescott’s tenure as the team’s starter, and the Dallas quarterback hasn't put together a strong postseason showing since his first game (a loss to the Green Bay Packers). Dallas came into Sunday's game as a three-point favorite at WynnBET.

Prescott’s scramble at the end of the loss to San Francisco was a questionable move to say the least, as the Cowboys were unable to get a playoff off to try for the end zone to at least tie the game at 23.

Part of that is on the coaches, but it is also on Prescott, who didn’t get down soon enough for Dallas to spike the ball and stop the clock.

Now, the Cowboys will have a long offseason to look in the mirror and figure out what they can do to make a postseason run in the future.

Prescott’s 1-3 record is much an indictment of the team as it is him, and the Cowboys struggling to defend home field is just as concerning. It will be interesting to see how Jerry Jones and the Dallas front office decide to handle this offseason to help the Cowboys get over the hump.
