Do You Believe Cardinals GM Steve Keim's Bold Expectations?
If the Arizona Cardinals didn’t have an epic collapse in the second half of last season, they would’ve made the playoffs. This year, expectations are high and the pressure is on from inside the building to make it happen.
General Manager Steve Keim fully believes that Arizona will right its wrong this year.
“I do. I think there’s no doubt (we’re a playoff team),” Keim said. “I think last year we were a playoff team. Again, I think we didn’t play up to standards when it comes to discipline and penalties and all the things that we knew we had to improve upon.”
The Cardinals are tied with the Denver Broncos for the longest current playoff drought at five years. Arizona thought it was on its way to ending it last season, especially after starting the year 6-4, but then lost five of their last seven games. In the offseason, they added veterans A.J. Green and J.J. Watt to bolster each side of the ball.
I think we’ll certainly play up to expectations this year (because of all) those additions, as well as the guys we’ve drafted in the past few years, (particularly) the quarterback [Kyler Murray], that have continued to grow and develop into the player we certainly thought he was coming out, Keim said.”
Arizona is in a tough position to get to the postseason. It has to go through not one, not two, but three NFC contenders in the same division.
WynnBET currently has the Cardinals odds to make the playoffs at +160 (bet $100 to profit $160). If you’re on the same wavelength as Keim, then here’s a great opportunity to make some money.
Arizona is also three-point underdogs in their Week 1 road matchup against the Tennessee Titans.
The Cardinals have a great quarterback-wide receiver combination with Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins. Along with their promising defense, they have legitimate potential to make the playoffs -- despite being in the toughest division in football.
