After the 44-26 Los Angeles Dodgers saw their four-game winning streak snapped last night in Atlanta, they hope to get back in the win column as they take on the 42-31 Braves on Sunday Night Baseball at 7:08 p.m. EST tonight.

Tony Gonsolin sits at +2000 to win the NL Cy Young at WynnBET Sportsbook and looks to build on an incredible season in which he's compiled a perfect 9-0 record and 1.58 ERA. He's thrown a quality start in six of his last seven outings as the Dodgers have won five straight behind him.

Atlanta counters with rookie sensation Spencer Strider, who gave up six runs in just 3.2 innings to the Giants last week. Strider dazzled all season prior to that hiccup though, and has a 3.40 ERA on the year.

Can Strider take down Goliath and give Gonsolin his first loss of the season or will the Dodgers stay hot behind their most consistent starter?

Let's take a gander at the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook to find the value in this Dodgers vs Braves Sunday Night Baseball matchup:

Dodgers vs Braves Odds, Run Line and Total

Run Line:

  • Dodgers -1.5 (+130)
  • Braves +1.5 (-160)

Moneyline:

  • Dodgers: -114
  • Braves: +104

Total:

  • 8.5 (Over -115/Under -105)

Dodgers vs Braves Prediction and Pick

The last thing I want to do is pick against my favorite young pitcher, Spencer Strider, but what am I supposed to do when WynnBET is giving us -114 odds on Tony Gonsolin and the Dodgers?

Los Angeles is 8-1 in Gonsolin's last nine outings and he has a 1.16 ERA in June. I've got a lot of faith in Strider, but Gonsolin clearly has the better track record and should be a larger favorite.

That doesn't mean Strider won't find success though. He labored against the Giants in his worst outing of the season but still ranks in the 84th percentile in expected batting average and 99th in strikeout percentage. If the Braves weren't such short underdogs, I'd consider picking them to win here. But at these odds, we're projecting Strider to be as good or better than Gonsolin, and that's a tough ask.

I have no choice but to back Los Angeles. The Dodgers have won five straight as road favorites while the Braves are 1-5 in their last six as home underdogs.

But my favorite bet tonight is the under 8.5. It's 5-1 in Gonsolin's last six starts and we've got two of the best bullpens in MLB supporting two starters I love. The under has hit in four straight games between these clubs, is 9-4-1 in the Dodgers' last 14 on the road and 5-2-2 in Atlanta's last nine as home 'dogs. As a cherry on top, we've got wind slightly blowing in from center field, preventing a huge carry on fly balls.

Give me the Dodgers in a close, low-scoring affair in which Strider showcases his talent but Gonsolin stays unbeaten.

Pick: Dodgers (-114) and Under 8.5 (-105)
