The San Francisco 49ers rookie running back Elijah Mitchell is playing in the most important game of his young career. I wanted to take a look at some bets directly related to him before Saturday’s game kicks off tonight.

The 49ers are currently 6 point underdogs and +200 on the moneyline. If they have a shot at a win over the best team in the league, they are going to need their backfield to hit the ground running. Between Deebo Samuel and Mitchell, they have a potent ground game that would scare any NFL defense. The game tied his career-high for touches in a game though he did not see a pass thrown his way.

This weekend, Mitchell will have what could be considered a plus matchup. For all the Packers’ success this season, one area they struggle in is stopping the run. GB is the 31st ranked team in the league in opponent's yards per rush and 109.1 rushing yards per game.

The full betting preview for this game can be found here. But, I wanted to dive deeper into Mitchell’s player props and make some sense of them before the opening whistle. All prop odds listed are courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook

Elijah Mitchell Props vs. Packers

  • Anytime TD scorer: +100
  • Player total rushing yards 81.5: Over-115/Under-115
  • To score first TD and Packers win: +1500

Mitchell will lead the ground attack against GB

The 49ers have one of the most impressive ground games in the NFL and Mitchell has a lot to do with that success. He finished the season with 963 yards and five touchdowns off 207 carries. While his TD numbers are nothing to be too impressed with, it's worth noting that three of his five TDs this season came in the last five games including one last weekend against the Cowboys. He also had a receiving TD in Week 17 against the Texans. While Elijah is capable of scoring, the real red-zone threat for the 49ers is Samuel. Therefore I will be skipping Mitchell’s anytime TD prop at even odds.

Where I won’t be fading Mitchell is his total rushing yards prop. At 81.5, this is a very reasonable spot for such a talented player. Mitchell has gone over this total in three games in a row and five of his last six games. I expect the 49ers to run the ball a lot tonight and that will help Mitchell realize this total and go OVER 81.5 yards against the Packers in the Divisional Round.
