Every AAC Team's Predicted Win Total for 2022 Season: Houston, Not Cincinnati, Boasts Highest Win Total
By Reed Wallach
The conference that delivered the first non-Power 5 team to the College Football Playoff may have a new sheriff in town.
Cincinnati sent nine players to the NFL after a 13-1 2021 season, a school record for both marks, but now may be set to take a step back in 2022 as they retool under head coach Luke Fickell. However, the Bearcats still have a lofty win total in the market, just not as high as Houston.
The Cougars won 11 of their last 12 games in 2021, including a Birmingham Bowl win over Auburn. Now, they enter the 2022 season as the favorites to win the AAC.

Houston Set as Preseason AAC Favorite
Houston's win total opened at 9 wins, but has since been bet up to 9.5 at + money. The team is the slight betting favorite at +200 over reigning champ Cincinnati (+250) in addition to Gus Malzahn's UCF team (+250)
The Cougars have lofty expectations under head coach Dana Holgorsen as they return stud quarterback Clayton Tune and No. 1 receiver Nathaniel Dell. Tune tossed over 3,500 yards last season and Dell hauled in more than 1,300 yards of that.
The team boasts one of the most feared defensive lines in the country and Holgorsen has this team trending in the right direction after racking up a 11 game winning streak during the regular season last year. While the team came up short against Cincinnati in the AAC Championship Game, the team is primed to leap them as the team looks to replace the likes of Desmond Ridder and Ahmad 'Sauce' Gardner.
It's worth noting that the Cougars avoid both of Cincinnati and UCF in the regular season, helping their case to go over their win total.
