The NBA’s preseason is over, which means the next time we see NBA basketball, it’s going to count for real.

Usually the preseason doesn’t play a huge factor into how Vegas would view a team, but there was a major shakeup atop the odds to win the NBA Finals this preseason.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks have surpassed the Boston Celtics as the favorites to win it all, a major development considering Boston held the top spot for weeks, even after the suspension of head coach Ime Udoka.

The rest of the odds have been relatively dormant, but let’s take one last look before the 2022-23 season kicks off:

Usually in the NBA, there are only a handful of teams that can win the title, but there appears to be a ton of parity this season.

Personally, I love the Denver Nuggets at +2000 as an NBA Finals contender, but there are several other teams (Milwaukee, Golden State, Boston, Brooklyn) that all make sense for an NBA Finals bet as well.

If you’re really in love with a team with shorter odds, now may be the time to bet them, because a fast start can quickly shrink the odds. Don’t forget, the Phoenix Suns got to as short as +200 last year because of their regular season performance.

The 2022-23 NBA season kicks off on Tuesday, Oct. 18 with the Warriors taking on the Lakers and the Celtics facing the Sixers.
