The New York Jets took a major hit in Week 1 of the preseason with starting quarterback Zach Wilson suffering a meniscus injury.

Now, the Jets will see what they have in Mike White and Joe Flacco to decide who will replace Wilson if he’s not ready for the start of the 2022 season

In Atlanta, veteran Marcus Mariota is trying to hold off Desmond Ridder for the starting quarterback job.

Neither of these teams is expected to compete for a Super Bowl this season, but the preseason has become crucial to figure out what they have in some key position battles as well as in their new young talent.

Here are the odds for Monday’s preseason matchup from WynnBET

Falcons vs. Jets Odds, Spread and Total

Spread:

  • Falcons -2.5 (-110)
  • Jets +2.5 (-110)

Moneyline:

  • Falcons: -155
  • Jets: +127

Total:

  • 38 (Over -110/Under -110)

Falcons vs. Jets Odds, Spread and Total Movement in NFL Preseason Week 2

The Falcons have moved from two-point favorites to 2.5 over the course of this week, but the bigger move is on the total. It has moved down two points from 40 to 38, and it could be due to less high-scoring games across the league in Week 2 compared to Week 1 of the preseason.

Falcons vs. Jets Best Bet and Prediction

The Falcons have been one of the worst preseason teams in the last few season, going just 2-17 against the spread in their last 19 games.

Even though both teams have real questions at quarterback that need to be answered, I actually think the Jets have the advantage there.

Mike White is trying to prove that he should get the nod to start the season after flaming out in 2021 when replacing Wilson, and the veteran Flacco is built to succeed in preseason given all of his experience.

Even though Ridder played well in Week 1, there could be growing pains for the rookie as well. Despite having different coaches over this 2-17 ATS stretch, the Falcons appear to not care much about winning in the preseason.

I think this is a spot where the Jets can pull off an upset, especially with so much up in the air on offense.

Lean: Jets ML (+127)
