FedEx Cup Power Rankings (How Will Top Players Perform at Tour Championship?)
The 2021-22 FedEx Cup Playoffs will conclude at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta this week with the Tour Championship.
The top 30 golfers will compete for the FedEx Cup, with each player starting at a certain score, depending on where they sit in the standings. Scottie Scheffler will start at 10-under par, which will give him a two-stroke lead over Patrick Cantlay, and a 10 stroke lead over the golfers ranked from 25th-30th, who will be starting at even par.

In this article, I'm going to power rank the top 15 golfers to win the big prize. The odds listed are via WynnBET Sportsbook.
I'm confident in saying that this week's winner, will come from the list below.
Tour Championship Power Rankings
1. Scottie Scheffler +200
Two of the three winners of the Tour Championship since the change in format entered the week in first place. With how Scheffler played last week, I have confidence he can get the job done at East Lake.
2. Patrick Cantlay +400
The 2021 FedEx Cup Champion will enter this year's edition of the Tour Championship in second place. He won last week's BMW Championship, and clearly knows how to perform at East Lake. Don't be surprised if he wins his second FedEx Cup.
3. Xander Schauffele +700
Nobody has dominated East Lake quite like Xander Schauffele has over the years. He consistently finishes with one of the top gross scores of the week. He'll start the week four strokes back from Scheffler.
4. Rory McIlroy +1000
Rory McIlroy has won the FedEx Cup twice in his career, including in the first year of the new format when he started the week in fifth place. This time around, he'll be in sixth place when he tees off on Thursday. He has the fire power to make up that ground in a hurry.
5. Sam Burns +2500
The only time that the pre-tournament leader didn't go on to win the Tour Championship, was when Rory McIlroy did it when he started the event in 5th place. This year, it's Sam Burns in that spot.
6. Cameron Smith +2200
Cameron Smith is part of the group, alongside McIlroy, who will begin six strokes back from the lead. His fantastic short game will give him opportunities to score birdies, and catch the leaders.
7. Tony Finau +2000
Few golfers will enter the Tour Championship as hot as Tony Finau. He has two wins and a T5 finish in his last four starts. He'll start alongside the likes of McIlroy and Smith, six strokes back from the lead.
8. Will Zalatoris +900
Will Zalatoris entered the BMW Championship in first place in the FedEx Cup standings, but an injured back forced him to withdraw. He's still in third place, but the back injury is concerning enough for me to stay far away from betting on him this week.
UPDATE: Zalatoris has withdrawn from the Tour Championship on Tuesday morning due to the injury he sustained last week.
9. Jon Rahm +1400
The last group of golfers who I think have a chance at winning this week are those are will start the event at three-under par, seven strokes back from Cantlay. Rahm certainly has the fire power to do it.
10. Matt Fitzpatrick +3500
In terms of bang for your buck, Fitzpatrick has the best amongst the golfers who will start at three-under par. He still ranks second on the Tour in total strokes gained, and somehow a US Open win still hasn't given him the respect he deserves.
11. Justin Thomas +3000
He will start alongside Rahm and Fitzpatrick at three-under par, but his recent form is concerning. He's finished outside of the top 50 in two of his last three starts.
12. Sungjae Im +3300
Despite starting at four-under par, Sungjae Im has longer odds than three of the golfers starting at three-under par. Nobody is expecting much from the South Korean, but I think he could be a sneaky dark horse this week.
13. Cameron Young +5000
Cameron Young is apart of the group starting at three-under par, and his play off-the-tee could lead to a charge up the leaderboard.
14. Sepp Straka +17500
Even though Straka is starting at four-under par, his odds tell you how much faith sportsbooks have in him being able to pull off the improbable. Still, he's within reach whereas many other golfers with much shorter odds, are not.
15. Max Homa +12500
Max Homa might be the most underrated golfer on the PGA Tour. He ranks 14th in total strokes gained this season, and has won events that boasted strong fields. With that being said, he'll start on Thursday eight strokes back from the lead. It'll likely be too much ground for him to make up.
