Georgia-Alabama Line Sees Surprising Late Monday Move
By Matt De Saro
The College Football National Championship kicks off in a few hours but we are still getting updates down to the wire. The latest news to come out about this game was a late line shift on the spread. Over the last few hours, the spread for this game has gone from Georgia -3 to Georgia -2.5.
While this usually indicates something has changed as far as the actual game goes, this movement is likely due to the market itself and has nothing to do with Alabama or Georgia.
WynnBET Sportsbook tweeted earlier today that they had taken a bet for $1 million on Alabama (+120). The bet was made by famed Houston bed salesman Jim Mattress Mack McIngvale. He is well known for making massive bets on the Houston Astros World Series games. With that in mind, let us take a look at the updated odds for tonight’s College Football Playoff National Title game, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

Georgia vs. Alabama Prediction and Pick
While the Georgia Bulldogs are favored in this game, they were favored in the SEC Title Game that they lost to Alabama. And, for as good as Georgia has been, Alabama just seems to have their number. The Bulldogs entered that game as 6.5-point favorites and got rocked by the Crimson Tide 41-24. The win was thanks in large part to the play of Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young who dissected a defense that was considered one of the best in decades.
While that game took place almost a month ago, I struggle to find anything that has changed since then. Both teams followed up the SEC Title Game by winning big in their bowl games and avoided any injuries along the way.
The question remains as to whether or not the Bulldogs can slow down Young and this offense. After the SEC Championship debacle, I am not so sure. Nick Saban outcoached Kirby Smart and has now won seven straight games against their conference rivals. I think this ends up being closer than the last time these two teams met. But, ultimately, the outcome will be the same.
Pick: Alabama Crimson Tide +115 to win
