The Memphis Grizzlies and Denver Nuggets are both coming into Thursday’s matchup off of losses on Tuesday, but this game may mean a little more to Denver than the impressive Grizzlies.

The Nuggets fell back into the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference after the Utah Jazz beat the Oklahoma City Thunder and Memphis in their last two games, which would set Denver up for a first-round matchup with the Golden State Warriors.

The West is a minefield at this point, but Denver may want to stay away from Steph Curry, Klay Thompson in company in the postseason for as long as it can.

The Grizzlies are still without Ja Morant, but they may get guard Dillon Brooks (questionable) back in the lineup on Thursday.

Grizzlies vs. Nuggets Prediction and Pick

The Grizzlies are the second best team in the NBA against the spread after a loss, going 16-7 this season, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them cover again as road dogs on Thursday.

Memphis had a cover wll in hand against the Jazz before forcing overtime and struggling to score, eventually losing by six as a 5.5-point underdog. It was a tough beat for yours truly, but it’s not going to stop me from backing the Grizz again on Thursday.

Memphis is the best team in the NBA against the spread this season, and it has been great as of late even with Morant hurt. The Grizzlies rank third in offensive rating and first in defensive rating over their last 10 games.

As for Denver, the team is fourth in offensive rating but really struggling on the defensive end, coming in 27th in the league over the same stretch.

I think Memphis bounces back from Tuesday’s loss and at least keeps this one close, if not picks up the outright win.

Lean: Grizzlies +3.5 (-108)
