Even though it's not officially a Major Tournament, The Players Championship has turned into one of the most anticipated and bet on events on the PGA Tour's schedule.

The top golfers in the world compete for a share of a $20 million purse, and bettors will be digging into the numbers all week to try to predict who the winner will be.

One name that likely won't be talked about much is Sergio Garcia, but I'd recommend betting on him in some form at TPC Sawgrass. Few players have had the success that he's had over the course of his career at this star-studded tournament.

As I pointed out in my betting preview for The Players Championship, course history isn't exactly the best indicator here as TPC Sawgrass plays differently in March. It was historically hosted in May before the move to this month back in 2019. With that being said, Sergio finished 9th and 22nd in the two complete tournaments since the move, so the calendar change hasn't seemed to affect the Spaniard.

How to Bet on Sergio Garcia at The Players Championship

Garcia is currently listed at +7000 (bet $100 to profit $7,000) at WynnBET to win this week's event, and while that option is available, I wouldn't personally recommend it. The field is too stacked and loaded for Garcia to win it for the second time in his career, but there are always other options.

Instead, you can bet on him to finish in the top 5, top 10, or top 20 at WynnBET. Those odds aren't released yet, but keep an eye out for them later this week.

Additionally, taking him in matchup bets, specifically in some where he's listed as an underdog, could prove valuable. TPC Sawgrass can be a dangerous course for young golfers, and oddsmakers and bettors will likely be undervaluing Garcia against the young group of pros. If you can find him at plus-money against just about anyone this week, he's worth a shot.
