Kansas State transfer quarterback Adrian Martinez has found a ton of success in Manhattan this season after a volatile career at Nebraska, but will he be on the field on Saturday as the Wildcats look to win the Big 12 Championship?

Martinez has been battling a leg injury for the second half of the season, which started against TCU in the two team's first meeting. Will Howard has filled in admriably at times this season for Martinez, who has missed the last two-plus games. What will the quarterback situation look like for K-State on Saturday in a rematch against the Horned Frogs?

Latest Adrian Martinez Injury Update

Saturday morning update: Martinez is not dressed pregame, indicating he will not be available in the Big 12 Championship, per multiple reporters.

Martinez has been out since early in the team's win at Baylor three weeks ago with a lingering leg injury. However, he has been progressing in the right direction and may be able to play on Saturday in certain packages.

Howard is more of a traditional pocket passer while Martinez is a dual threat weapon for the Wildcats, rushing for over six yards per carry and 11 touchdowns on the ground this season.

So, we don't have a clear answer on if Martinez will go on Saturday, but if he does expect him to be used infrequently, so this will be Howard's game for the most part.

Howard has completed nearly 63% of his passes for 13 touchdowns and two interceptions in five appearances this season, including three starts.
