Ball State is playing for bowl eligibility on Tuesday night, but will they be without their most important player?

Carson Steele has been the workhorse of the Ball State offense this season, 11th in the nation in rush yards per game and fifth in carries per game. However, Steele left the team's loss last week to Ohio with an apparent concussion. Will he be available on Tuesday night? Here's the latest:

Latest Carson Steele Injury Update

Tuesday night update: Steele was pictured warming up a few minutes ahead of kick and appears good to go for Tuesday's regular season finale.

Steele left at the end of the first half of Ball State's Week 12 loss after taking a nasty fall and fumbling the ball away. The broadcast showed the bellcow running back going to the locker room and not again, but did report he was out.

Mike Neu said in his weekly press conference that "We're just taking it day-by-day right now with Carson and we'll just have to see how it unfolds."

The Ball State passing game has struggled this season, 104th in EPA/Pass this season, and if Steele is out the team is going to rely heavily on quarterback John Paddock. This is a stout Miami (Ohio) defense that has held all but one MAC foe to 24 points or less this season.

It may be best to wait until we get an update on Steele's status before betting on this one, but in the meantime, check out our game preview.
