The Denver Broncos have been a major disappointment in the 2022 NFL season, and they now are expected to be without quarterback Russell Wilson in Week 7 against the New York Jets.
Wilson, who is dealing with a hamstring injury, wants to play, but Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett is holding him out of this matchup to allow him to heal and play the rest of the season.

While Russell Wilson wanted to play despite a hamstring injury and did everything he could to play, the Broncos HC Nathaniel Hackett will hold back the 9-time Pro Bowl QB vs. the Jets to allow him to heal and prevent a lingering injury, per sources.

Denver has moved to an underdog against the Jets in this game with Wilson out, and it makes since given how great New York's defense has been this season. The Broncos, even when Wilson was healthy, have been dreadful on offense, ranking 31st in the NFL in points scored this season.
This is just the second start of Rypien's career, and ironically his first start also came against the Jets. In that game, Rypien completed 19 of his 31 pass attempts for 242 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions.
The Broncos are hoping that he can limit mistakes against this tough Jets defense, but it's a lot to ask after New York shut down Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers in Week 6.
Brett Rypien Prop Bets vs. Jets for NFL Week 7
If you're looking to wager on Rypien, his OVER passing yards at 187.5 may be the way to go. If Denver falls behind in this game, he may be forced to throw the ball a ton, especially in garbage time.
Denver still has solid weapons on the outside even though the quarterback play this season has been abysmal. Maybe Hackett's call to sit Wilson will wake up Denver's dormant offense in Week 7.
