The Las Vegas Raiders are here to play. The Raiders shocked the Baltimore Ravens in overtime on Monday Night, and now are getting their love from the oddsmakers.

Before the season, WynnBET had the Raiders’ win total set at 7.0 games, with the over (+100) as the underdog to the under (-120). With a win in their pocket, the Raiders are now -140 to go over seven wins and +120 to fall short.

Las Vegas went 8-8 last season with an elite offense and bottom of the barrel defense. The defense just lost Gerald McCoy for the rest of the season and gave up over 400 yards to Baltimore, but the Raiders were able to cause two turnovers to make up for it. If the defense can be opportunistic enough to create takeaways or even begin to clamp down, the Raiders could be a surprise playoff team.

I said the Raiders would win eight games and after watching them in Week 1, I’m sticking to it. Derek Carr was just throwing the ball up at some points, but it didn’t matter because Darren Waller was going to be down there to make the play eventually.

The Raiders are in a tough division, but if their offense can be as explosive as it was last season, hitting the over on the win total should be no issue. Carr has proven that he can get the job done at the end of games, and Las Vegas should be comfortable with him as the quarterback.
