Jameson Williams Will be a Name You'll Want to Remember for Alabama This Season
Jameson Williams is a name you’re going to want to remember.
With Alabama losing eight different starters on offense to the NFL Draft, we all knew that the Crimson Tide would need some players to step into bigger roles this season. Quarterback Bryce Young transitioned into the starting role with ease, and Williams looks to be one of the top names to replace Devonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle at wideout.
Williams led all Alabama wide receivers in yards, mainly due to a 94 yard bomb from Young that he took to the house. He finished the day with four catches for 126 yards and a touchdown. He also finished with the second most receptions on the team. Only John Metchie III recorded more with six.
Metchie III is the clear number one receiver on the team, but Williams looks like he could slide in as the number two option after today’s performance.
Neither of the two receivers were on the odds list at WynnBET to win the Heisman trophy, but with Devonta Smith winning it as an Alabama receiver last season, anything is possible. You can bet on “the field” to win at +1000, which means if anyone wins who isn’t currently listed, your bet would cash.
Alabama looked completely dominant in its 44-13 win over Miami. The Crimson Tide entered Week 1 as the odds on favorite to win its second consecutive National Championship, but don’t be surprised if they’re even bigger favorites after their flawless victory today.
Williams has a chance to further establish himself in the Alabama offense next week when the Crimson Tide takes on Mercer.
