There’s a lot of questions surrounding the Celtics this season, but one thing that I know is that Jayson Tatum is going to get buckets. A lot of them. I might go as far to say he might get the most buckets of anyone in the league.

Tatum is +1400 at WynnBET to win the scoring title this season, putting him seventh in the odds standings. As a dark horse candidate, Tatum makes a lot of sense and should be one of your top dark horses to lead the league in scoring.

In the 2020-21 campaign, Tatum fully came into his own and became the consistent, three-level scorer he was projected to be. He finished the season averaging 26.4 points on 46% from the field and nearly 39% from downtown. He’s increased his scoring output every year he’s been in the league and this season could be the cherry on top.

Tatum finished 11th in the league in scoring last season, and that was with the dysfunction that surrounded the Celtics. While the team was underperforming, Tatum was doing his absolute best to keep the team afloat.

Also, Tatum will be happy to have his partner in crime, Jaylen Brown, back. Brown missed the last few games of the regular season and the first round of the playoffs due to a ligament injury in his wrist. With Brown on the floor, all the defensive attention won’t be solely focused on Tatum, allowing him to get a few easy baskets.

Tatum can score with the best players in the league and as he truly reaches his prime, the league needs to be on notice.
