Jets vs. Dolphins Updated Odds and Prediction: What Bettors Need to Know
By Matt De Saro
The New York Jets head south to take on their division rivals the Miami Dolphins in Week 15. The Jets are looking to get back on track after losing their last two games in a row in this divisional matchup. The New Orleans Saints got the best of them last week with a final score of 30-9 in a pretty epic beatdown. Especially considering the rag-tag group the Saints are starting on offense due to injuries. Zack Wilson again failed to impress and this offense again stalled at the start line.
The Dolphins, on the other hand, have really turned things around and are one of the hottest teams in the league. They are winners of their last five games and are now 6-7, just one game removed from a playoff berth. This is a must-win for Miami. Luckily, the Jets suck and won’t put up much of a fight here. Jets vs. Dolphins Prediction and Pick
Last month this game could have been a pick’em or close to it. But, the Dolphins legit look like a team that could win the division while the Jets continue to underperform. It’s actually amazing how far Miami has come after starting the season 1-7.
While I recommended the UNDER in my early-week preview, I would like to add to that pick now that we’re closer to kickoff. I was deterred from going with my gut and taking the Dolphins early in the week due to the myriad of players placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list including all three of the running backs on the 53-man roster. Jaylen Waddle has joined that group as of today.
The big name here is Myles Gaskin but I am becoming more confident he will suit up this weekend. He is vaccinated and has been on the list for a week already. So, as long as he passes two tests on Saturday, he’s a go. Phillip Lindsay probably has the least chance to make it back as he tested positive just three days ago but it's still possible.
I do still like the under in this game, especially now that it jumped 2.5 points since opening. But I’m also going to take a chance on the Dolphins to cover with a depleted roster.
Pick: Miami Dolphins -9.5 (-110)
