Course history and past success is a big part of handicapping golf, and if you want to lean into that this week, then you need to take a hard look at Jordan Spieth.

The PGA Tour has its final stop in Texas for the Charles Schwab Challenge, set to be hosted at Colonial Country Club. Over the past seven years, nobody has performed better at this track than Spieth.

Let's start off by looking at where he ranks in the top 10 golfers on the odds list to win this week. All listed below are via WynnBET Sportsbook.

Top 10 Odds to Win the Charles Schwab Challenge

  • Justin Thomas +1200
  • Jordan Spieth +1200
  • Scottie Scheffler +1400
  • Collin Morikawa +1800
  • Viktor Hovland +2200

You know a golfer plays a course well when he's the co-favorite with the latest Major Tournament winner, and he has better odds than the No. 1 ranked golfer in the world.

Jordan Spieth's History at Colonial Country Club is Undeniable

Jordan Spieth has played in an event at Colonial Country Club nine different times in his career. Of those nine starts, he has seven top 10 finishes including three second place finishes and a win in 2016. That kind of continued success is almost unheard of.

Here's how he ranks in statistics over those years:

He leads the field this week in both average scoring and average birdies or better per round. He is truly a force to be reckoned with.

Unfortunately, I won't be betting on him myself. His 177th ranking in strokes gained: putting this season has made me nervous to wager on him with my own money, but if you decided to do so, I certainly wouldn't argue with you.

Instead, as I wrote in my betting preview, I'm looking at a different golfer that's included in the above list; Kevin Na.
