still expected to be one of the best teams in the AFC.

Tyreek Hill and Tyrann Mathieu are gone, and Hill seems content to be playing with Tua Tagovailoa in Miami after he and the Chiefs couldn’t come to an agreement on a long-term extension.

Kansas City was upset in the AFC Championship Game by the Cincinnati Bengals last season, but Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid are arguably the best quarterback-coach duo in the NFL. After winning the AFC West in six straight seasons, the Chiefs will have a little more competition with the Denver Broncos, Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers improving this offseason.

How should we bet on Mahomes and company? They may actually be undervalued if you think their defense turns a corner after last season, but first, let’s see who was added to this roster in the offseason:

Kansas City Chiefs Offseason Moves and Signings

  • Traded WR Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins for five draft picks.
  • Drafted EDGE George Karlaftis, CB Trent McDuffie and WR Skyy Moore.
  • Signed WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling.
  • Signed WR JuJu Smith-Schuseter.
  • Signed RB Ronald Jones.
  • Signed C Austin Reiter.
  • Re-Signed RB Jerick McKinnon.
  • Signed DE Carlos Dunlap.
  • Signed S Justin Reid.

Kansas City Chiefs 2022 Schedule

Kansas City has a tough opening to the season, taking on the Arizona Cardinals in Arizona and then quickly turning things around for a Thursday Night Football matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers.

We will see a ton of this team in primetime, with five different games in the primetime slots over the course of the 2022 season. K.C.’s toughest stretch may come in late November, as it plays four games against playoff caliber teams:

  • Nov. 20 @ Los Angeles Chargers
  • Nov. 27 vs. Los Angeles Rams
  • Dec. 4 @ Cincinnati Bengals
  • Dec. 11 @ Denver Broncos

Can Kansas City capture another division title? It won’t be easy, but the Chiefs certainly have the firepower to be one of the league’s best teams.

Kansas City Chiefs 2022 Win Total Prediction

  • OVER 10.5 (-120)
  • UNDER 10.5 (+100)

Jump on this line as fast as you possibly can.

I know the Chiefs lost Tyreek Hill and Tyrann Mathieu in the offseason, but they improved their defense through the draft and free agency, adding impact players such as Trent McDuffie, George Karlaftis and Carlos Dunlap.

Patrick Mahomes is still the quarterback for this team, which means the offense will still be lethal even without Hill, and JuJu Smith-Schuster, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Mecole Hardman and Skyy Moore are a more than serviceable group of receivers.

The biggest thing for me is this: Since Mahomes took over as the Chiefs’ starting quarterback, they have won 12, 12, 14 and 12 games. You mean to tell me, in a 17-game season, that Kansas City can’t win at least 11 in 2022?

This is an easy OVER pick.

Lean: OVER 10.5 (-120)

Kansas City Chiefs 2022 Odds to Win Division, AFC, Super Bowl

  • To Make the Playoffs: YES -210/NO +170
  • Odds to Win AFC West: +175
  • Odds to Win AFC: +550
  • Odds to Win Super Bowl 57: +1000

I am extremely high on this Kansas City team, as the Chiefs won 12 games despite a terrible defense in the beginning of the 2021 season.

I won’t count out Mahomes and Reid to build up a new scheme that can get by without Hill, and I think one of Smith-Schuster, Valdes-Scantling or Mecole Hardman steps up in a big way in 2022.

Kansas City’s defense is also much improved with its draft picks, and Justin Reid will replace Mathieu quite nicely in the secondary. I don’t mind throwing something on K.C. to win it all at +1000 and I certainly think they make the playoffs (-210) and are rightful favorites in the AFC West (+175).
