Keep Taking the Over on Rams’ Cooper Kupp Until He Proves Otherwise
Every receiver needs to work with whoever Cooper Kupp trained with in the offseason.
Kupp has been fantastic so far this season. Whether you want to give him that credit or give it to Matthew Stafford for unlocking his potential, Kupp is playing on a different level right now.
In three games, Kupp has 25 catches, 367 yards and 5 touchdowns. The only other players to start a season like that are Larry Fitzgerald and Randy Moss. If your name is being mentioned with their names, you’re doing something right.
It may be obvious, but moving forward, bet the over on whatever Kupp’s props are. Until Kupp hits a rough patch, keep going back to the well.
The Rams’ offense is explosive -- and efficient -- with Stafford at the helm. The Rams are 24th in the league in attempts this year, but are 6th in yards and 2nd in touchdowns. Now that Stafford is the quarterback, the Rams look similar to the fun and innovative offense from 2018.
Kupp is leading the league in receptions (tied with Davante Adams), yards and touchdowns. Currently, he is on an insane pace. If Kupp continues to do what he is doing, he will finish the season with 141 catches, 2,079 yards and 28 touchdowns. Obviously, it would be unreasonable to ask Kupp to keep that up, but he is on track to have a monster season.
With Kupp’s emergence, Robert Woods has lost a lot of his value. Woods has 124 yards on the season, which is only two yards more than what Kupp is averaging. These two receivers have put up nearly identical numbers for the past couple seasons, but now it’s time to leave Woods alone and get on the Cooper Kupp hype train.
