Louisiana Tech vs. UAB Prediction and Odds For Conference USA Finals (Bulldogs To Take Advantage of Tired Blazers)
By Joe Summers
The 24-9 #3 Louisiana Tech Bulldogs take on the 26-7 #2 UAB Blazers in the Conference USA Finals today at 8:30 PM EST.
UAB outlasted Middle Tennessee State in triple-overtime yesterday and faces a short turnaround against a Bulldogs squad that has won and covered the spread in three straight. The Blazers have won six straight but are just 2-5 against the spread (ATS) in their last seven.
Our own Reed Wallach identified Louisiana Tech as a strong value ahead of the tournament - will they prove him right and cash a +1000 future or will UAB hold strong to stamp their bid to March Madness?

Louisiana Tech vs UAB Prediction and Pick
UAB beat Louisiana Tech twice in the regular season but there's ample reason to believe this may be different.
First, the Blazers are going to be exhausted. They just played a triple-overtime game yesterday and now have to take on one of the best defenses in the conference. The Bulldogs are in the 97th percentile in defensive rating over their last five games and just held a good North Texas team to 36 points. In the entire game. 36.
Second, UAB has had a bit of a turnover problem lately. The Blazers are in the 14th percentile in turnovers per game in their previous five. Those turnovers should lead to transition opportunities for Louisiana Tech and likely some trips to the free throw line.
That leads me to the third reason: production at the charity stripe. UAB is in the 8th percentile in fouls per game in that five-game stretch and ranks 222nd on the year in defensive free throw rate. The Bulldogs are in the 95th percentile in free throw shooting and will take advantage of those bonus trips to the line.
I love the value on Louisiana Tech to catch an exhausted Blazers squad and think they'll win their fourth straight as an underdog.
Pick: Louisiana Tech +130
