Michigan vs. Iowa Prediction and Pick
Our Matt De Saro broke this game down earlier in the week, confident that Michigan can roll past Iowa on their way to the CFP. It took some lucky breaks for the Hawkeyes to make it to Indianapolis, including a double digit comeback against Nebraska last week, but their luck runs out on Saturday against the Wolverines.
"While the Hawkeyes did manage to make it to the show, they are the inferior team here. They struggle to move the ball on offense and average less than 300 yards per game overall. That puts them outside of the Top-120 in terms of yards per game and their 25.7 PPG mark ranks them 81st. Defense is the name of the game for Iowa and they rank in the Top-10 in terms of opponent’s points per game (17.3), yards per game (315.8), and points per play (0.240).
"So, while the Wolverines have a massive advantage on offense, they are equal if not better than Iowa on defense. I think that Michigan and Harbaugh have been waiting too long for this day to go out and half-ass it. I'm betting they are going to run all over the Iowa Hawkeyes, cover, and punch their ticket to the CFP."
Pick: Michigan -11
