Fresh off a Super Bowl win in the 2020 season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are looking to continue their dominance in 2021 with all 22 starters from last year’s team returning to the roster.

That continuity will certainly help the Bucs, and wide receiver Mike Evans thinks the team’s offense is primed to have some major success in their second year with Tom Brady at quarterback.

“We’re miles ahead of what we were last year,” Evans said regarding his work with Brady. “Not just me and his connection, but the whole team, the whole offense. It’s really exciting and hopefully we can do something really special this year.”

If the Bucs are miles ahead of where they were in 2020, the NFL needs to be on notice. Tampa Bay put up the third-most points and the seventh-most yards in the NFL last season on its way to the Super Bowl.

If that’s expected to get better, and oddsmakers think it will, the Bucs could be looking at a historic campaign

Tampa Bay is the favorite to lead the NFL in Week 1 scoring at WynnBET with +850 odds, and it is tied for third on the odds list to lead the NFL in scoring this season at +1000 odds. With the Dallas Cowboys, who struggled mightily on defense in 2020 on the schedule in Week 1, Evans and company may have a field day on Thursday night.

The Bucs averaged 27.8 points per game through their first nine games last season, with their 38-3 loss in Week 9 to the New Orleans Saints serving as the turning point. Tampa Bay went on to average 34.6 points per game throughout the rest of the regular season before hanging 30 or more points on each of its opponents in the playoffs.

Yeah, the rest of the NFL should be a little nervous about Brady and all of his weapons being on the same page in 2021.

Tampa Bay is a  7.5-point favorite over Dallas in Thursday’s season opener. You can check out our full betting preview and prediction for the game here
