MLB All-Star Game Most Valuable Player Odds, Picks and Predictions (Who Will Win MVP?)
By Joe Summers
American exceptionalism knows no limitations, not even in an MLB All-Star Game. The American League has eight consecutive wins in the showcase, though finds itself as an underdog heading into tonight's matchup at 8:00 PM EST.
Peter Dewey is sticking with the American League and the under, though I'd like to find value in the MVP market as well. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. won the individual honors last year, with Shane Bieber, Alex Bregman, and Robinson Cano taking home the award in previous years.
Who are the likely candidates to win the All-Star Game MVP this year? And where does value lie for bettors?

MLB All-Star Game Picks and Predictions
Shohei Ohtani (+360)
If the All-Star game is about stars, why not rock with the brightest of all stars? There's only one player competing who can both hit and pitch, after all.
Ohtani is the best baseball player in the world and quite possibly one of the best we've ever seen. Despite how unnaturally talented he is, it's only natural Ohtani wins at least one All-Star Game MVP in his career.
I'll note that Ohtani does not plan to pitch tonight, which does mitigate his chances. But since he's batting first, he'll likely have multiple opportunities to blast a home run, which would go a long way in winning him MVP.
Trea Turner (+1600)
Turner can do it all, and with tonight's game in Los Angeles, the L.A. players have a natural hometown boost to consider.
An exceptional defender, Turner enters the All-Star Game on a seven-game hitting streak, batting .306 with 14 home runs and 68 RBI. I could easily see Turner making a few plays defensively and on the base paths alongside a crucial hit, giving him value at +1600.
Luis Arraez (+7000)
My colleague, Reed Wallach, points out that eight of the last 18 MVP winners have come from the bench. In a close game, a critical pinch hit could swing the ballgame in one league's favor, so finding longshot value can pay dividends.
Enter Luis Arraez. Arraez is mashing this year, leading MLB with a .338 batting average. If he comes up with runners on base and slashes a two-run double, he could easily win the award.
Juan Soto (+7000)
You mean to tell me we're getting the best hitter on the planet, who just won the Home Run Derby in the midst of contract negotiations, at +7000????
Um, yeah, I'll take that. This is Soto's weekend. I don't care that he isn't starting. He's basically if Barry Bonds and Babe Ruth had a baby.
Soto should never be +7000, ever. I'll giddily back Barry Ruth and ask questions later.
