MLB Best Bets Today

  • Guardians vs. Angels UNDER 8 Runs (-115)
  • Walker Buehler OVER 5.5 K's (+115)

Guardians vs. Angels UNDER 8 Runs (-115)

The Guardians are slight underdogs tonight in Anaheim, which is somewhat surprising considering the pitching advantage they're throwing out tonight with Shane Bieber on the bump.

After a few rough starts where his velocity was way down to begin the season, Bieber bounced back with an exceptional outing vs. the White Sox his last time out; mowing down the South Siders with seven K's in six sharp innings.

If Bieber remains on track, even if Cleveland gets to Angels SP Michael Lorenzen, I'm just not sure how sizzling the offense will be. Lorenzen can get beat around, but his stuff has a lot of movement in the early portion of the season, and teams going from the east coast to west coast tends to have a negative impact on runs in the first game of a series.

This feels like a 3-2 game waiting to happen.

Walker Buehler OVER 5.5 K's (+115) - Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

Our Peter Dewey wrote up this prop as one of his favorites of the day in our MLB Best Prop Plays article, and I'm backing the play 100%.

It's been a slow start for many strikeout-heavy pitchers like Buehler so far this year despite home runs and total scoring being at a historic-low level in the early going, but this matchup suits the Dodgers ace very well.

Arizona is third-worst in the Majors in strikeout percentage, averaging just under 9.5 per game. Buehler has also pitched less than six innings in every start so far this season as the Dodgers let him arm continue to ramp up.

As he starts to throw harder and deeper into games, the K's will come as well. 5.5 against a terrible offense doesn't feel like a difficult number for a stud like Buehler to get to tonight.
