Monday night went a little rough for best bets with the exception of my "Daily Dinger" selection of Aaron Judge going yard for some positive plus-value in the Yankees-Angels matchup out in Anaheim.

On Tuesday night, we're spreading across several matchups, highlighting a strikeout prop, a no-run-first-inning prop, as well as a moneyline dog at home.

Here are my three favorite MLB bets on the board for the full Tuesday night slate this evening.

MLB Best Bets Today

Taijuan Walker UNDER 3.5 Strikeouts - New York Mets vs. L.A. Dodgers

The last several starts have been awful for Walker. After a great start and first half of the year, August has not been kind to the Mets right-hander; going just 14 innings with a 7.71 ERA and .394 weighted on-base average, or wOBA against him.

It won’t get easier tonight vs. the Dodgers, as they lead all of baseball in nearly every offensive category, along with only striking out 21.6% of the time.

Walker only strikes out 18.3% of hitters he faces, and averages just 6.06 K’s per nine innings at home this season. Considering that he’s only averaging less than 3.2 IP per start this month, that won’t get him to where he needs to go.

Texas Rangers ML vs. Houston Astros

The Rangers offer some sneaky value as a moneyline home dog tonight against the Astros, even with stud left-hander Framber Valdez on the mound for Houston.

Texas SP Dane Dunning has only allowed two runs in two starts vs. Houston this year, and has held his own throughout the season with a Fielder Independent Pitching of 4.00.

He's also put up his best numbers this month; pitching to a 3.63 ERA in 22.1 innings in August, while also showcasing exceptional splits at home: 3.21 ERA, and a .213 batting average against.

BetSided's Reed Wallach is backing the under on 7.5 for tonight's game, which leads me to think that Dunning's positive home road splits will likely play a role; giving the Rangers as good of a shot as any to pick up an upset win.

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Arizona Diamondbacks NRFI

I edited today's "MLB Best Prop Bets" plays from the BetSided team and immediately had to tail this one from our own Peter Dewey.

The pitching matchup is too juicy to just let it slide, with Zac Gallen and Aaron Nola facing off in the desert. Both starters have allowed a combined nine runs TOTAL all season long in the first inning, and a combined ERA of 1.54 in the month of August.

Gallen in particular has been unreal over his last four starts, giving up zero earned runs over his last four starts and 27.1 innings.
