Tuesday night made for a couple of bad beats in our "MLB Best Props" plays.

While St. Louis Cardinals left-hander José Quintana delivered on his under 4.5 strikeouts (3), we missed by a half strikeout on Colorado Rockies' lefty Kyle Freeland's under 3.5 (finished with 4), as well as the over on Tampa Bay Rays southpaw Jeffrey Springs at 4.5 (finished with 4) vs. the New York Yankees.

You can also find game-by-game betting plays and previews for every matchup on our MLB Picks page, as well as each team's probable pitchers, weather report and more.

Ross Stripling OVER 3.5 Strikeouts (+115) - Toronto Blue Jays vs. Baltimore Orioles

Stripling returns off the injury list today in an afternoon matchup to help stop the bleeding for the Blue Jays. It's almost fitting that as the New York Yankees have gone just 2-8 over their last 10, so too have the Jays; dropping three straight games and are in danger of being swept by Baltimore.

Someone might have to let our friend Iain MacMillan know not to throw stones in a glass house, eh?

However, with Stripling back, I know I can at least rely on him to keep Toronto in the game. He's allowed two runs or less in all but one of his starts since May 7.

As for Orioles' starter Austin Voth, he's starting to get knocked around a little more of late, allowing five earned runs over his last 10.1 innings; including two home runs against the Pittsburgh Pirates and Tampa Bay Rays. While he's still due for some positive regression, his expected ERA of 4.25 still isn't great, and Stripling's return should help neutralize a Blue Jays staff that's in need of some help.

Also, just for laughs, the Orioles have won only once in their last 23 games vs. division opponents on Wednesday. – Ben Heisler

George Kirby OVER 5.5 Strikeouts (-123) - Seattle Mariners at Los Angeles Angels

Seattle Mariners rookie pitcher, George Kirby, has been cranking things up in the strikeout department as of late. He recorded at least seven strikeouts in two of his last three starts, and now he takes on one of the most strikeout-heavy teams in the Majors in the Los Angeles Angels.

Heading into tonight’s game, the Angels have the highest strikeout percentage, striking out in 26.1% of their plate appearances.

Kirby has already faced the Angels once this season, and he recorded six strikeouts in 6.0 innings. I have faith he can surpass that number again tonight. – Iain MacMillan

Corey Kluber OVER 2.5 Earned Runs Allowed (-117) – Tampa Bay Rays vs. New York Yankees

I’m fading Corey Kluber in this spot against the New York Yankees, even though New York’s offense has been dreadful as of late.

Over his last eight starts (the start of July), Kluber has a 5.98 ERA and has given up 54 hits in 43.2 innings pitched. Yes, he’s been a bit unlucky, as his FIP (Fielding Independent Pitching) sits at 3.23 over this stretch, but he’s allowed four-plus runs in five of those eight outings and at least three in six games.

The Rays have allowed Kluber to pitch deep into games over this stretch as well, as he has just one game with less than five innings pitched. I’ll trust the Yankees to jump on the veteran on Wednesday.  – Peter Dewey

Framber Valdez OVER 5.5 Strikeouts (-110) - Houston Astros at Chicago White Sox

Dating back to the end of April, Valdez has pitched at least six innings in every single start. He has been the epitome of consistency and his ability to go long into outings makes him a strong bet to go over his strikeout props.

Makes sense right? More opportunities to strike players out, it’ll come. Valdez has gone over this mark in four of his last five starts and while Chicago has a top six strikeout rate, they don’t show a ton of discipline at the plate, second worst walk rate over the last month, so I’ll bank on Valdez to find his swing and misses to go over. – Reed Wallach
