We knew we were guaranteed a win in at least one MLB prop bet Monday night, as two of us were on opposing sides of Milwaukee Brewers starter Freddy Peralta's strikeout prop.

Reed Wallach ended up coming out victorious, but unfortunately, that proved to be our lone win on the board yesterday out of four props.

For the full slate today, we're sprinkling all across the Majors with a few overs on two South Florida pitchers on opposite sides of the state, while targeting two different under props between the starters at Busch Stadium between the Colorado Rockies and St. Louis Cardinals.

You can also find game-by-game betting plays and previews for every matchup on our MLB Picks page, as well as each team's probable pitchers, weather report and more.

Edward Cabrera OVER 14.5 Outs Recorded (-160) - Miami Marlins vs. San Diego Padres

Marlins starter Edward Cabrera has burst onto the scene in 2022, and he’s quietly becoming one of the more electric young pitchers in MLB.

I think there is value on this prop for Cabrera, even at -160 odds. The hard-throwing righty has a 2.05 ERA on the season, and he’s pitched at least five innings in four of his five starts.

The only start he missed was when he allowed five runs against the Houston Astros back on June 12, and since then he’s pitched 10.2 innings of scoreless baseball, allowing just three hits.

The Padres got shut out by the Marlins last night, so I wouldn’t be shocked if Cabrera cruises through five innings in this matchup. – Peter Dewey

Jeffrey Springs OVER 4.5 Strikeouts (-127) - Tampa Bay Rays at New York Yankees

The Yankees are striking out the 10th-most in baseball in the month of August, and Springs has posted a strikeout rate of nearly 27% this season, including passing this line in his last three games.

Matter of fact, he's hit this over in all but one start since May 21 this year despite only averaging a little over 5 IP per start.

I think this line is brought down because of the Yankees' overall offensive numbers, but since I’m already fading them, Springs should continue this trend on Tuesday night.Ben Heisler

Kyle Freeland UNDER 3.5 Strikeouts (+120) - Colorado Rockies at St. Louis Cardinals

Freeland is going up against a vaunted Cardinals lineup that has two worthy MVP caliber players in Nolan Arenado and Paul Goldschmidt, and I expect a short outing for the southpaw.

Freeland averages just over four strikeouts per start this season, but the Cardinals are incredibly disciplined at the dish, striking out at a bottom-five rate in baseball over the last two weeks.

Not to mention, the team is third in batting average against lefties, so expect a ton of balls in play. I’ll take the plus money here. – Reed Wallach

José Quintana UNDER 4.5 Strikeouts (-115) - St. Louis Cardinals vs. Colorado Rockies

One of my favorite strategies when it comes to strikeout props, is to find a bad team that has succeeded at not striking out, and take the under on their opposing pitchers’ strikeout total.

That’s what we’re doing here, as José Quintana of the Cardinals is set to face the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday night.

It may surprise you to find out that the Rockies have the sixth lowest strikeout rate in baseball at 20.1% dating back to July 1st. This number gets even better against left-handed pitchers. It decreases to 18.6%, which is the third best mark in MLB.

It also helps that Quintana has failed to cross this number in four of his last six starts. I’ll take his UNDER 4.5 strikeouts tonight at -115. – Iain MacMillan
