I’ve made my picks for the day and that always weighs on my mind when I’m searching my favorite underdog. This time there was a specific game that jumped out to me even more upon further inspection. This is not a case where I’m changing my mind, but more a case where I’m doubling down and going all-in.

We have to head out west for this underdog today and if you want to find odds for every game on the MLB slate you can head to WynnBET Sportsbook.

Best MLB Underdog Pick Today

Early today I wrote how the Mariners are familiar with Framber Valdez and it can give them a chance to keep it close. Seattle will have to string together some hits and they have a good chance to do it today, even though they have lost five straight to Houston. I ultimately just took Seattle on the run line, but now I don’t think that is enough.

The angle I didn’t look at was the fact that the Mariners have Chris Flexen on the mound. The Mariners have won the last six times that Flexen has taken the mound, and he has only allowed four earned runs in the month of July. Flexen is only 7-8, but his last loss was on June 13.

Flexen has gotten some BABIP (Batting average on balls in play) luck in his last few starts, but he has also pitched a lot better. Flexen will need to remain sharp to stay in a rotation that just added Luis Castillo. The vibes will be high in Seattle after trading for the All-Star. Management has pushed its chips to the middle of the table, and that typically galvanizes a team.

Put all of that together and you’ve got a juicy underdog pick for a Saturday night.

Pick: Mariners ML +175
