Monday Night Football Best Bets for Bears vs. Patriots (Rhamondre Stevenson, Khalil Herbert Shine in Primetime)
Week 7 comes to a close tonight when the Chicago Bears face the New England Patriots as two second-year first round quarterbacks square off between Justin Fields and Mac Jones.
The latter returns from the injury list after missing two and a half games with a high ankle sprain, while the former is trying to find a way to avoid the injury report with an offensive line in shambles.
Bill Belichick's squad won their previous two games with rookie quarterback Bailey Zappe filling in for Jones, as New England has bounced back to 3-3 after a 1-3 start to the year. Chicago, meanwhile, has lost three straight after beginning 2-1.
There's tons to wager on the board for Monday Night from New England, but let's first check out the latest odds for both teams along with the projected total.
Bears vs. Patriots Odds, Spread and Total
Below are the BetSided team's top spread bets, along with our favorite prop, andanytime touchdown scorer wagers for Monday Night Football.
Monday Night Football Best Bet
Bears +8.5 (-110)
I'm on the Bears to cover the 8-point spread this evening.
The Patriots are better and more talented, but not enough to warrant a full eight points. Both teams rank very similar in most defensive statistics, including opponent yards per play where the Patriots are 13th, and the Bears 15th.
I also expect Chicago to find some success on the ground against New England. The Bears run the ball on 58.81% of their plays. That's the highest mark in the NFL, while also averaging the eighth most yards per carry at 5.2.
Now, they face a Patriots defense struggling to stop the run. They rank 22nd in opponent yards per rush, allowing an average of 4.7 yards per carry.
I certainly wouldn't recommend betting on the Bears moneyline, but I'll take them to cover the 8-point spread. - Iain MacMillan

Monday Night Football Best Prop Bet
Khalil Herbert OVER 32.5 Rushing Yards
Khalil Herbert, your table is ready.
David Montgomery remains the starter, but Chicago's coaching staff made it abundantly clear that just because Montgomery may start games for now, he may not finish them if Herbert has the hot hand.
Herbert's touches have dropped since Montgomery returned, but the second-year back is still making the most of his volume Despite half of Montgomery's touches in Week 6, Herbert ran for 75 yards on only seven carries in a game where Chicago just could not come away with points in the red zone.
One other remarkable note from NFL analyst Scott Barrett, is Herbert, despite having nearly the same number of carries as Montgomery, has more yards AFTER contact than Montgomery has total rushing yards this year!
I also wrote up Herbert to find the end zone as a value play against this Patriots team that actually ranks just ahead of the Bears in Run DVOA Defense metrics at Football Outsiders (26th). His number has gone up since I got him at 30.5, but I'll play this up to 33.5 with no hesitation - Ben Heisler
