It was announced today that reigning NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers has re-signed with the Green Bay Packers for a historical contract that makes him the highest paid player in the NFL.

Packers fans should be ecstatic that they're getting their guy back for a number of years, right? RIGHT?!

Sure, Rodgers has been one of the best QBs in the NFL during his tenure as the Packers starter. Being a four-time MVP is certainly nothing to scoff at. But at 38 years old, is he finally going to figure out his playoff woes this late in his career, or did the Packers just sign-up for four more years of postseason heartbreak?

Will Aaron Rodgers Win Another Super Bowl?

Quarterbacks have long been measured mostly by their championships, and at this point of his career, one just doesn't seem enough to fully solidify Rodgers as an all-time great. His only Super Bowl win came in the 2010 NFL season, and since then, the Packers have been plagued by a lack of playoff success.

Rodgers is just 12-9 (12-8-1 ATS) in his postseason career as a starter, including 1-4 in NFC Championship games, and while his defense could be blamed in some of his losses, there are others that fall solely on his shoulders. This past season, for example, the Packers offense could only muster a measly 10 points against the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional round, and were eventually defeated 13-10.

At some point, you have to wonder if Rodgers has what it takes to lead his team to another championship, especially at his age.

Are you willing to pay a guy the most money that's ever been paid to an NFL player, only for him to choke in the postseason year-after-year? I wouldn't be. If I'm paying big bucks, I want rings, and Rodgers has largely failed to deliver that his entire career.

Don't worry Packers fans, at least the regular season will continue being fun for you.
