NBA Best Bets Today (Predictions for Dillon Brooks and Who Will Win Each NBA Playoff Game on Wednesday)
By Peter Dewey
Tuesday’s Game 5 action was a bit of a bore, but we should be in for a much better game, when the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks face off on Wednesday night.
The two teams have traded games all series, and that game certainly has more intrigue than the potentially series-ending matchup between the Golden State Warriors and Memphis Grizzlies.
Two player props, and a… parlay (!) for tonight’s action? Let’s get into today’s picks!

NBA Best Bets Today
- Dillon Brooks UNDER 27.5 Points, Rebounds and Assists (-120)
- Desmond Bane UNDER 16.5 Points (-105)
- Boston Celtics-Golden State Warriors Moneyline Parlay (+129)
Dillon Brooks UNDER 27.5 Points, Rebounds and Assists (-120)
The volume is going to be there for Dillon Brooks in Game 5, but I can’t get behind him to go over this number given his playoff shooting struggles.
Brooks was just 5-for-19 in Game 4, and he finished with 25 PRA. He’s only cleared this number in one game this postseason, and he needed to score 24 points to do so.
The Warriors have defended Brooks well, and I think this number is still a bit high given the lack of secondary stats he has provided.
Desmond Bane UNDER 16.5 Points (-105)
Desmond Bane has been playing through a back injury in this series, and the results have been ugly, as he’s averaging just 9.5 points per game in the series and has failed to clear 16.5 points in any of the four games.
I’m going to fade Bane again tonight. He’s struggled to find open shots, and with Ja Morant out, the Grizzlies’ offense is going to go through *gulps* Dillon Brooks once again on Wednesday.
Bane is also taking just 8.8 shots per game in this series, so the volume hasn’t been there for him at all to hit this prop.
Boston Celtics-Golden State Warriors Moneyline Parlay (+129)
It is very rare that you will see me parlay any pick in the NBA Best Bets column, but I like both the Warriors and Celtics to win today.
Boston is -240 on the moneyline at WynnBET while Golden State is -190, but I grabbed them a bit early for +129 odds.
The Warriors played about as badly as they could in Game 4 and still came away with a win, so I expect them to come out with a sense of urgency with a chance to end Memphis’ season. With Ja Morant out, I simply don’t know if the Grizz have enough offensive firepower to win this game.
As for the Celtics, home favorites have been insane in Game 5s, per our own Reed Wallach. They are 90-22 straight up after last night’s action.
“Of course one would think that the home team is favored and they should win, but the results are staggering,” Wallach wrote. “As we get into the later part of the series, the home team has held serve 80% of the time.”
Give me the two favorites to win, even if it is a square play.
