NBA Best Bets Today: Predictions for Kevin Durant, Tobias Harris and Spurs-Clippers
By Peter Dewey
Only a three-game slate in the NBA on primetime Tuesday?
Don't worry, there may not be a ton of action tonight, but the quality is at an all-time high.
The Golden State Warriors will head to Barclays Center to face the Brooklyn Nets. Yes, we're getting Steph Curry and Kevin Durant head-to-head. That game is all I need for a perfect NBA night, but let's not forget about the Utah Jazz taking on the Philadelphia 76ers or the Los Angeles Clippers hosting the San Antonio Spurs.
Like I said in yesterday's column, I've been as cold as they come the past few days, but a winner on John Collins' point total last night may jumpstart things in the right direction. Let's make some picks for tonight before we sit back and watch the two top contenders for the NBA title at WynnBET face off.

Golden State Warriors vs. Brooklyn Nets: Kevin Durant OVER 29.5 Points (-130)
If you think Kevin Durant isn’t motivated to stick it to his former team, think again.
The Brooklyn Nets star has been liking tweets dishing a column that claimed that the Golden State Warriors won the breakup with him heading to Brooklyn.
Durant’s point total is at 29.5, and he’s scored 31, 38, 30, 28 and 33 points in his last five games while shooting 61.8 percent from the field and 52.0 percent from 3. Yes, you read that right.
He’s the best scorer in the NBA, maybe even in NBA history (that’s a conversation for another day), and I think he goes nuclear in a showdown with Steph Curry tonight. -- Peter Dewey
San Antonio Spurs vs. Los Angeles Clippers: OVER 219.5 (-110)
The Clippers may have a great defense, but both of these teams have played at a fast pace this season. Los Angeles plays at the sixth fastest pace in the NBA and San Antonio is right behind at No. 7.
I think this total is a little low, especially since the Clippers have hit the over in their last four wins and four of their last five games. If this ends up being a run-and-gun Clippers win, I think we’re looking at a game that could be in the 120s.
San Antonio comes into this matchup at 7-5-1 on overs this season, and with both teams coming into this matchup fresh, I think plenty of points will be scored.
Philadelphia 76ers vs. Utah Jazz: Tobias Harris OVER 7.0 Rebounds (-105)
The Jazz are one of the better rebounding teams in the NBA (second in rebound percentage), but Tobias Harris is being undervalued here after hitting the over on this number or exactly seven boards in seven of his eight games so far this season.
Harris has an even bigger role with Joel Embiid out, playing 35.8 minutes per game since returning from the league’s health and safety protocols.
I’ll gladly take the over with Harris averaging 9.0 rebounds per game this season.
