Green is still the favorite at WynnBET Sportsbook, but the true contenders behind him are starting to take shape. Cunningham is off to a slow start, but he is among the chasing pack that also features Evan Mobley and Scottie Barnes

Jalen Green Remains Favorite Despite Shooting Woes

Green has struggled with his shot (35.9% from the field, 28.4% from 3), but the volume is there for the young guard. He’s shown some serious talent, but there are going to be some off nights as he adjusts to life in the NBA.

Cade Cunningham Still Easing into NBA Game

Cunningham, the No. 1 pick, is shooting just 28.4% from the floor through his first five games, but he has scored 18, 17 and 20 points in his last three games. After missing the start of the season with an injury, it’s only a matter of time before he finds his stride.

Don’t Sleep on Franz Wagner (+2500)

Jalen Suggs received most of the hype for the Orlando Magic, but Franz Wagner has quietly been an important piece of the team through the first few weeks.

The No. 8 pick is averaging 13.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game while shooting 46.0 percent from the field and 36.0% from beyond the arc. Wagner doesn’t have the same hype as some of the higher picks, but he has played well.

Unfortunately, Orlando is going to be one of the NBA’s worst teams this year, which may hurt Wagner’s chances. That being said, Green’s Rockets are just 1-10 and oddsmakers still have him pegged as the favorite.
