Oh, the NFL, how we have all missed you!

Bettors rejoice, because it’s finally time to place wagers on the 2022 NFL regular season, and the BetSided team has a variety of plays for you in Week 1 as part of our best bets.

Ben Heisler and Iain MacMillan are both on a specific team they love on Sunday afternoon, and MacMillan is ready to jump on this sizable road dog on the moneyline.

Plus, if you’re looking for some player prop action, our guy Donnavan Smoot has a rushing prop he loves in Week 1.

Football season, let's ride!

NFL Best Bets for Week 1

  • New York Giants ML (+198) vs. Tennessee Titans
  • New York Giants +6 vs. Tennessee Titans
  • Dameon Pierce OVER 48.5 Rushing Yards (-114)
  • New York Giants ML (+198) vs. Tennessee Titans

This is my best moneyline underdog bet of the week

The Giants will have new life breathed into their offense with a restructured offensive line and a new head coach in Brian Daboll. Also, I have concerns about the Titans this season.

Derrick Henry's production and health took a big dip in 2021, and I'm not confident he can return to 2020 form this year. – Iain MacMillan

New York Giants +6 vs. Tennessee Titans

Very few books still have the Giants anywhere near here, since the line moved down a half point to a full point after the ACL injury confirmation for Harold Landry.

The Giants' offense should look substantially better this season, now having an adult in the room in new head coach Brian Daboll. Saquon Barkley is back healthy, and the Giants' secondary will have little to worry about with Ryan Tannehill having nobody to throw to following the A.J. Brown trade to Philadelphia this offseason.

Derrick Henry might run for 150 and a few scores, but 6 is still a lot of points to cover for a team with an expected bottom 10 offense this season.

Via Matthew Friedman of BettingPros, non-postseason teams have gone 73-46-4 ATS as underdogs on the road in Week 1. I expect that trend to hold in Nashville this week. Ben Heisler

Dameon Pierce OVER 48.5 Rushing Yards (-114)

I am all aboard the Dameon Pierce hype train. His preseason was fantastic and he has all the momentum in the world coming into Week 1. The Indianapolis Colts allowed nearly 110 rushing yards per game last season.

With Davis Mills a pure pocket quarterback and Rex Burkhead slated to serve as the pass-catching back, all the rushing opportunities are going to be funneled through Pierce.

Houston may be down in this game, but Pierce will certainly get the touches in his NFL debut. – Donnavan Smoot
