NFL FOOTBALL IS BACK!

I could not be more excited to see players wearing NFL uniforms play in a somewhat almost real football game, even though almost none of those players will likely make the actual NFL roster. The Hall of Fame Game is a yearly tradition where we all get so excited for the return of football and then quickly lose interest by the second quarter.

You know how to change that and enjoy the agony that is the preseason? Try betting on it.

The Jacksonville Jaguars and Las Vegas Raiders face off in Canton, Ohio Thursday night and you can get in on the action at WynnBET Sportsbook.

Jaguars vs. Raiders Prediction and Pick

When it comes to betting the preseason the most important thing to focus on is backup quarterback play. Now, I’m not just talking about who is the second string QB, but we have to look at the third string and the guy who was just brought in as a camp arm. This is really everything, especially when many of the games will be a pick ‘em like this one is.

Both teams actually have quarterback rooms with some talent and experience. Derek Carr and Trevor Lawrence obviously won’t see the field, but in Jacksonville, C.J. Beathard has played a lot of NFL football, Jake Luton saw the field last year, and Kyle Sloter is something of a preseason all-star.

In 2017 Sloter had his first preseason experience and went 31-43 for 413 yards and three touchdowns. He has little NFL regular season experience, but has been in and around the league for five years. It's Kyle Sloter time in Jacksonville and this is the perfect time for a great preseason performance a lifetime preseason player. This is Kyle Sloter's Super Bowl and he has to come through.

The Vegas QB room is not half bad either, with Nick Mullens and Jarret Stidham, but Chase Garbers is an undrafted rookie from Cal Berkley who will likely handle a fair amount of snaps in the early preseason.

Based on that alone, I have to side with Jacksonville. That and the fact that it is their first game with Doug Pederson as coach, and the players who were around for Urban Meyer last year, will be thrilled to begin a season without him.

PICK: Jaguars -110
