Week 12 was a relatively easy Survivor Pool week, as the Miami Dolphins were an easy pick over the one-win Houston Texans.

Three of our editors were on the Dolphins to win in last week’s picks, but the team is getting a bit bolder in Week 13.

With only a few weeks left in the regular season, sometimes you have to think outside the box to find the team that could win you the pool if a major upset happens. For everyone who has made it this far, you’re better than most.

Here are the teams our editors would take in Survivor in Week 13:

NFL Week 12 Survivor Pool Pick Results

  • Reed Wallach: Miami Dolphins (W)
  • Iain MacMillan: New York Jets (W)
  • Ben Heisler: Miami Dolphins (W)
  • Donnavan Smoot: Baltimore Ravens (L)
  • Peter Dewey: Miami Dolphins (W)

NFL Week 13 Survivor Pool Picks

Seattle Seahawks

If you're still alive in your Survivor Pool, like yours truly is (no big deal), then you're probably starting to run out of top tier teams to use. If that's the case, you're searching for someone you still have available to lead you to an easy win.

Last week, I used the Jets in this spot and Mike White led me to glory. This week, I'm looking at the Seattle Seahawks who will be taking on a completely decimated Los Angeles Rams team.

The Rams are missing their top two receivers in Allen Robinson and Cooper Kupp. Matthew Stafford is likely still to be out and now add Aaron Donald to the list. They have had the worst offense in the NFL all season, and it feels weird to do it, but we have to continue to fade the defending Super Bowl champs.

The Seahawks are up to 8-point favorites on Sunday, so lock them in and let's survive and advance to next week. – Iain MacMillan

Detroit Lions

We should all hop on the Detroit Lions bandwagon this week. Their offense is starting to look powerful again, and the defense looks somewhat competent now.

With Jamaal Williams running the ball as physically as he is and Amon-Ra St. Brown dominating the slot, they have the tools to beat the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jacksonville is 2-6 in its last eight games.

They’ve had to come back in both of those wins, but the Lions’ offense is better than the ones Jacksonville has overcome and can keep the game at arm's length. – Donnavan Smoot

Cleveland Browns

Cleveland is coming off a huge comeback win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 12, and now it gets quarterback Deshaun Watson back from suspension.

While it’s hard to root for Watson, he’s a better quarterback than Jacoby Brissett, although that may not even matter against the Houston Texans.

Houston has just one win on the season and was dominated by the Miami Dolphins in Week 12. Kyle Allen did not spark the offense in the way the team had hoped, and star rookie Dameon Piece has been held to just 16 rushing yards on 15 carries in his last two games.

Cleveland and Nick Chubb should run all over a Houston defense that is allowing 4.9 yards per carry this season. – Peter Dewey
