The hot streak on the ice continues!

Another 2-1 night last night brings us to 18-10 (+7.18 units) dating back to last Sunday. After a terrible start to the season, we're back to being profitable

Let's keep that hot streak alive tonight as we have a huge slate of 12 games to choose from.

With today's slate being so big, I have five, yes FIVE, picks for tonight.

NFL Best Bets Record-to-Date

  • 26-23 (+1.63 units)

NHL Best Bets for Today (Tuesday, November 1)

  • Golden Knights -155 vs. Capitals
  • Kraken +205 vs. Flames
  • Devils -115 vs. Canucks
  • Panthers -1.5 (-110) vs. Coyotes
  • Sharks -120 vs. Ducks

Golden Knights -155 vs. Capitals

The Golden Knights have been one of the best teams through the first few weeks of the season. They rank second in 5-on-5 expected goals per 60 minutes at 3.3, and their goaltending has been fantastic. Logan Thompson is expected to get the start tonight, and he sports a .943 save percentage through his first three starts.

The Capitals aren't a bad team by any means, but they sit in the middle of the pack in most areas, and will struggle against Vegas tonight.

Kraken +205 vs. Flames

The Seattle Kraken have taken a huge step forward this year, and while the Flames are rightfully favorites, this line is completely mispriced. The Kraken are fourth in the NHL in 5-on-5 CORSI%, one step above the Flames, who rank fifth. They're also sixth in expected goals per 60 minutes ratio, ahead of the Flames who come in at ninth.

I'll take a shot on Seattle as big-time underdogs.

Devils -115 vs. Canucks

The New Jersey Devils have been the surprise of the NHL season. We're still early in the year, but they're dominating in every advanced analytic. Here is where they rank in the following 5-on-5 statistics; 2nd in CORSI%, 1st in expected goals per 60 minutes, and 1st in expected goals against per 60 minutes.

I have to keep betting on the Devils until they show me that this is just a fluke start for New Jersey.

Panthers -1.5 (-110) vs. Coyotes

I will die on the hill of fading the Coyotes, no matter what. They rank dead last in almost every single analytic that you look at. Despite playing alright in recent games, I'm convinced that fading them on the puck line will be a profitable move by the end of the year.

If you look at 5-on-5 expected goals per 60 minutes, the Panthers are averaging 3.24 and the Coyotes are averaging 1.57. Enough said.

Sharks -120 vs. Ducks

Both of these California teams stink, there's no doubt about it. But, I think the Sharks have a slight edge and deserve to be bigger favorites on home ice.

San Jose ranks 25th in 5-on-5 expected goals per 60 minutes and 12th in expected goals per 60 minutes. Meanwhile, the Ducks rank 29th and 30th in those two areas. I'll take the Sharks as short favorites.
