The New York Jets are 0-2. A song so familiar we can all sing along.

The Jets are not one for avoiding disasters, they’re known for things like the “Butt Fumble” and selecting kicker Mike Nugent in the second round of the NFL Draft. You wouldn’t draft a kicker that high in your fantasy football draft, imagine doing it for an actual NFL franchise. New York keeps things interesting, but not always in a good way.

Teddy Bridgewater, quarterback of the Denver Broncos has made mincemeat of defenses in the early going. Yes, he only played against the New York Giants and the Jacksonville Jaguars, but he has played an extremely efficient game under center. Bridgewater currently has a 77.1 completion percentage, 296 passing yards per game, and 120.7 QB rating.

The Broncos have the largest spread this week too, as 10.5 point favorites over the Jets on WynnBET Sportsbook.

The Jets can actually avoid disaster in Week 3 against the Broncos if they just don’t blitz Bridgewater. The fact that Bridgewater hasn’t incompleted at pass yet when being blitzed seems comical.

New York blitzes on 26.1 percent of their opponent quarterback’s dropbacks, 16th in the NFL, right in the middle of the pack. Seeing that Jacksonville blitzed at 29.3 percent of dropbacks, and the Giants blitzed at 27.8 percent, all signs point to Bridgewater having continued success in Week 3.

If the Jets can reel in their blitzing, they could avoid a disaster in an attempt to contain Bridgewater. But it’s the New York we’re talking about here. Chances are Jets defense will get destroyed because they will have destroyed themselves.
