The Green Bay Packers were embarrassed in Week 1 by the New Orleans Saints, losing 38-3 in what may have been the worst game of Aaron Rodgers’ career.

It was an ugly start for Green Bay and the NFC North as a whole, as the division was 0-4 in Week 1. The Packers will face an NFC North foe in the Detroit Lions in Week 2 of the NFL season on Monday Night Football.

Detroit was able to cover the hefty 9.5-point spread against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1, but it still allowed 41 points in the loss. Jared Goff and company are looking to turn things around in Week 2, but this feels like the perfect bounce-back spot for the Packers after back-to-back 13-3 seasons.

Here are how the odds look at WynnBET Sportsbook:

Spread:

Packers -10.5: -110

Lions +10.5: -110

Lions vs. Packers Betting Trends

  • The Packers have won their last four meetings against the Lions.
  • The Packers are 6-0 after losses since the start of 2019, with five wins of at least 10 points.
  • The Lions are 1-0 against the spread this season.
  • The Lions have hit the over in 11 of their last 17 games.
  • The Packers are the second-best team in the NFL against the spread since Aaron Rodgers took over in 2008 as the team’s starter (127-97-5).

Packers vs. Lions Prediction and Pick

The Packers looked terrible in Week 1, but they’re due to bounce back against a lowly Lions team in Week 2.

Aaron Rodgers and Matt LaFleur are 6-0 following a loss together, and Green Bay gets a matchup at Lambeau Field in primetime to show it is still a contender. If the Pack lost this game, I’d be a little nervous about their outlook.

However, at 10.5 points, I’m actually going to take the Lions to cover the spread in this one. Detroit was able to feast in garbage time against the 49ers in Week 1, and Green Bay’s defense couldn’t stop the Saints in the opener.
