One of the biggest top 25 matchups of Week 1 of the college football season will take place on Saturday at noon between the No. 19 Penn State Nittany Lions and the No. 12 Wisconsin Badgers.
The Nittany Lions, led by quarterback Sean Clifford, are looking to rebound from a disappointing 4-5 season in 2020 and pick up a road win in Week 1.
Wisconsin is looking to even the all-time series with the Nittany Lions, as it is 9-10 all time, with the last matchup between the two teams coming in 2018 where Penn State came away with a 22-10 victory at home.

Clifford was inconsistent for the Nittany Lions in 2020, but I’m finding it hard to believe that the Badgers are favored by almost a touchdown in a top 25 battle.
Graham Mertz and Clifford will have a chance to show they both are better players than they were in 2020, and I think that should make for a relatively tight game.
Three of the last four matchups between these two teams have been decided by seven points or less, and you could argue that this may be the most even that they’ve been entering a matchup, especially in Week 1.
Give me the Nittany Lions to cover the 5.5 spread in what should be an entertaining Big Ten matchup.
