Aaron Donald is one of the greatest defenders in NFL history, having won three Defensive Player of the Year awards, and he can add to that resume tonight.

Not only could the Los Angeles Rams defensive lineman add Super Bowl champion to his name on Sunday, but he is also a leading candidate to win Super Bowl MVP in tonight's showdown with the Cincinnati Bengals.

According to WynnBET Sportsbook, where Donald is +1600 to win Super Bowl MVP, the public has been all over the Rams defensive lineman to come away as the game's MVP.

Donald has received 23 percent of the bets for Super Bowl MVP at WynnBET and 36.8 percent of the handle. Joe Burrow (12.9 percent of bets, 17.1 percent of the handle) is the next closest player to Donald.

BetSided's own Donnavan Smoot sees Donald as an MVP contender as well, and he took him in our Super Bowl prop bet draft.

Donald could wreak havoc against a poor Bengals offensive line, and that would be his path to taking home the award. The Bengals allowed nine sacks against another tough pass rush in the Tennessee Titans in the divisional round. But will they have a better plan to slow down Donald tonight?

The public sure doesn't think so.

If Donald were to win Super Bowl MVP, he'd become the first defensive player since his teammate, Von Miller, to win the award. Miller won Super Bowl MVP as a member of the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50.

There's certainly precedent for Donald. Miller had 2.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in that game, and he's not the only defensive player to win Super Bowl MVP in the last decade. Malcolm Smith won Super Bowl MVP in 2014 for the Seattle Seahawks by registering 10 tackles, a pick-six and a fumble recovery.

Clearly, sportsbooks are rooting against Donald winning this award, but there is certainly a path for him to control this game to help the Rams come away with the win.
